Much had been said about Deepika Padukone stealing away the show from the former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with her traditional Indian look. Now, Ash has taken up the opportunity to silence her critics and she appeared in a true Indian flavour as the trailer of Mani Ratnam’s bilingual Raavan/Raavanan was screened to the media at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival. The event was attended by the lead stars of the movie, Vikram, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai who looked stunningly beautiful in her black saree.
Suhasini Mani Ratnam, the film’s co-producer and dialogue writer for the Tamil version, said that the film would help “Us understand the grey parts that all of us have in us…None of us is completely white or black”. She also praised A R Rahman for his work and said, “In fact, the music accentuated picture. Songs have a great role to play. They do take the plot forward.”
Ash was also there for the premiere of Oliver Stone’s latest flick, ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’, starring Hollywood big shots Shia LaBeouf, Josh Brolin, Carey Mulligan, Charlie Sheen, Michael Douglas and Susan Sarandon on Friday and she wore a stunning pink Gucci gown for the occasion.

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna also made it for Amitabh Bachchan’s star studded Paa premiere. Both Twinkle and Kangana were spotted wearing same blouses however they accessorized themselves differently. Who do you think looks the best?
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the ramp in Delhi on the first day of December to endorse a Watch Brand. She was dressed in a White gown with Black trimmings with a tight fitting bodyline and a flowing lower portion.
She was looking ravishing and indeed it was as if her feeling of regret for not being able to walk the ramp for the Barbie Doll campaign was being satisfied here. The dress according to sources was a Barbie Doll one and it was all very evident from her face how happy she was to walk the ramp in it. At the event she even fulfilled her duty of being a perfect Daughter in law by speaking about the family production ‘Paa’.
She tried to explain to all present there that it was a simple film with simple ideas of showing the warm relationship between a fat her and a son who was effected with a disease called Pregoria. She said it was rather based on the human relationships and not on the disease itself.
It is learnt that since the time, Amitabh Bachchan had said that Vidya Balan reminded him of his favourite actress Waheeda Rehman, the actress just can’t stop blushing. The senior Bachchan had said in a recent interview that Vidya “has the grace and beauty of Waheeda Rehman”.
He had further added that Vidya’s Indianness reminded him of the star with whom he worked in his earlier films like Trishul, Kabhie Kabhie and Adalat. A pal of Vidya’s reveals to us that Vidya is extremely delighted by the superstar’s compliments.
“What more she could ask for. She is deeply humbled and at the same time dumbfounded.” The pal tells us. Vidya has stated in this regard. “It was very kind of him (Amitabh Bachchan) to say something like that. Waheedaji was known for her beauty and grace and being compared to her is like receiving a great award.
Amitji has been generous with his compliments. I’m speechless.”She further adds, “I got the opportunity to work with him and Abhishek and it has been a great experience. I sincerely wish I get more roles like this in the future.”

It is always a joy to meet him… We have always spent time together discussing various topics of common interest and yes films is one of them. Lets see how things go,’ Amitabh posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com Saturday.Aamir, who excels at promotional gimmicks for his movies, has so far had live chat with fans on the Internet, reportedly got in touch with them through social-networking websites and even launched the music of the film online.

‘There is a unique way in which the promotion for ‘Paa’ is scheduled over the radio and soon you shall all be in a position to witness it…,’ he wrote.
‘Talks have now been initiated for the premiere to be held in not one, not two, but three centres. And we are diligently working on a London-Dubai-Mumbai destination… The logistics and the mechanics are being worked out and hopefully there will be some news soon,’ he added.

Vidya Balan, who plays Amitabh Bachchan’s mother in “Paa”, was so impressed by Abhishek’s caring behaviour towards his father during the shooting that she confesses she would like to have a son like Abhishek in real life.
“I would prefer a son like Abhishek. I have seen him with his father on the sets… he was so nice to his father that I was touched,” Vidya told reporters here Saturday.Director R. Balakrishnan’s “Paa” is an emotional story of a father-son relationship and Amitabh will be seen as Abhishek’s 13-year-old son Auro who is suffering from a rare disease progeria, that accelerates ageing. The film releases Dec 4.
“The film is all about Auro and all through the film there is a certain sensibility about Auro, but no sympathy is shown towards the 13-year-old progeric child in the film,” said Vidya. When the director approached her for the role, she wasn’t sure about playing the mother of a progeric child. “Initially, I wondered how to do the role as I didn’t have that motherly instinct. But while working on the film I realised what motherhood is,” said Vidya.

According to reports, ABCL is said to be on a road to recovery with its much-hyped upcoming film ‘Paa’. After suffering a string of losses as its projects bombed at the Box Office, the company is now headed to reestablish itself in Bollywood, under the aegis of Aishwarya.
Sources suggest that Ash is leaving nothing to chance and has taken over the charge of marketing strategy of ‘Paa’. So whether it’s the head-in-the-box teaser ads, or Auro merchandise.

PAA has become a hot proposition overnight, soon after its very first promo was unveiled. The distributors are super-excited, the exhibitors are waiting to lay their hands on the film and the moviegoers are waiting with bated breath to watch the superstar transform into a kid.
Not many are aware that the production reins of PAA have been handled by Abhishek Bachchan himself. "It was a great learning experience," he tells me. Abhishek seems to have learnt the ropes pretty fast, since the first thing he did, before the film went on floors, was to keep the economics of PAA in check.
"Making an economically viable project is most important in today's times," Abhishek says. The film hasn't cost its makers a fancy amount, despite the presence of A-listers such as the Big B, Abhishek himself, Vidya Balan and Paresh Rawal. PAA is produced by AB Corp and Sunil Manchanda and directed by R. Balki.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is playing the role of a 12 year old progeric in his upcoming flick Paa and his inspiration for the role are his grand kids.
Amitabh says, “A lot of prosthetics went into making me look like a 12-year-old in ‘Paa’. I did try to watch kids and took a little bit of hints from my own kids’ childhood, but I took most from my grandchildren. They were quite an inspiration for me for ‘Paa’.”
