Karan Johar’s big budget flick Kurbaan starring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor got an A certificate by the censor board.
Sources stated that as the film is set against the backdrop of terrorism, it carries lot of violence. “Taking this into account, the censors felt that a ‘U’ or even a ‘U/A’ certificate would not be advisable,” said the sources.
Although director Rensil D’Silva did his best to convince the Board members, they didn’t alter their judgement. “After we saw Kurbaan, we felt that it was meant for adult viewing only,” said Vinayak Azad, the Regional Officer of the Censor Board.
