Riya Sen has been a successful actress in Bollywood. But she has been declining offers of entering into Bengali Films.

But, she agreed to do her Bengali film debut in Director Rituparno Ghosh's film ‘Abohamaan’.

You may recall that Riya had in the past always refused every offer she got for Bengali movies.

As she wanted to start her career in Bengali films with a Rituparno Ghosh film only.

When asked about the story of ‘Abohamaan’, the director says that it is the story of a Bengali filmmaker who marries an actress.
